Should Gaddafi be assassinated? UPDATED

Should Gaddafi be assassinated?

Colonel Gaddafi is the acting leader of Libya; he is a man who has not stopped his ruthless ways of leading for 42 years. In the last few weeks we have all seen on TV the protesting on his poor decisions to increase welfare of the nation, The libyans have had enough of him for these reasons. He runs a very similar form of government as the Nazis of World War 2. That being that he takes tax payers money and spends it on himself and for the luxury of higher members of Libyan society.
He like all dictators will not let the people vote or have a say in how he leads the country, and anybody who does will be shot, there are also many reports of Libyan police torturing civilians to keep them quiet. Under his rule he is making life for the middle-lower classes of Libya a living hell.
The main reasons for Gaddafi’s removal are. To stop the slaughter of innocent Libyan civilians. His forces have killed up to 800 people in the last few weeks. Apparently the Libyan army are using Anti-Aircraft ammunition which is a very large projectile which can easily remove limbs. There are reports of men, women and children with severed arms and many with the complete removal of heads. U.S president Barack Obama quoted in a meeting that this violence is unacceptable and is urging Gaddafi to stop, but he has ignored.
Secondly Libya has a large supply of oil that could be mined and exported to other neighbouring countries. Gaddafi has not made the most of these natural resources. If Libya did they would greatly increase the wealth in General for Libyans this being more jobs and income.
Gaddafi’s government is a failed state, this meaning that it is based on corruption. He has lost control of his territory; there is no civilised Authority to make correct decisions to increase standard living. He has lost the ability to produce public transport or plumbing to the Libyan people, he shoots people on sight who question his rule. He has lost the ability to interact and promote the welfare of Libya and neighbouring African countries.
Overall Libya is a mess.
So should Gaddafi be assassinated, there are many reasons for it, so it is the best option. But I believe the Allied forces namely ANZUS (Australian New Zealand United states Army corps should take care of this problem,  by force as this is a huge crime of international law, that being in the section of human rights. He should be captured and trialled much like Sadam Hussein. The attempt of Assassinations is usually unsuccessful on highly protected world leaders.
There are many problems with sending an entire army over to Libya though. First problem is the Americans simply can’t afford to send their troops to Libya after Iraq and Afghanistan, they have to pay for soldiers, aircraft, tanks, bombers, firearms and mobile vehicles, the Americans may be the most powerful nation in the world but they don’t harvest money trees over there. It would be much easier to send a small team to take care of Gaddafi.
Many ask the question, what will we do if he is killed or removed as a leader, I believe that they should form an American or British government with representatives to lead the country until it gets back on its feet.
